O nuestros lunares de toda la vida. 

Como muchos de los patrones y diseños que llevamos, nacieron por pura casualidad. El error humano puede ser maravilloso.

Su origen se remonta a finales del S. XVIII, donde por un error en el estampado, aparecieron círculos y pintitas en las telas, estos se denominaron lunares o “topos”, pues se asemejaban a los agujeros que estos animales hacían en los jardines. En principio, estas telas fueron vendidas a gente humilde, especialmente a los gitanos y bailarinas flamencas, quienes disimulaban las manchas pintando más manchas y lunares.

En 1873, la revista “Godey,s” usa el termino “polka-dots” para nombrar este diseño. Se lo nombró así por la Polka, el baile de la época, aunque no existe relación alguna entre el diseño y el baile. Inmediatamente se puso de moda, usándose en mangas, tocados y vestidos completos.

Recordemos además que en la década de los 50’s fue el estampado estrella entre los rockabillies.

Y aquí siguen, tan vigentes como entonces, vuelven cada año y no son exclusivos de la primavera o el verano, sino que también los vemos cada vez más en invierno. 

En España su uso está asociado al traje de gitana o flamenca.

Así que hoy me he puesto flamenca y he sacado los lunares a pasear. 

El look que hoy os traigo os remontará a otra tendencia de la que hablamos hace muy poco aquí; el regreso de los estilismos basados en Pretty Woman. El estampado de la falda es igual al que lucía Julia Roberts en un partido de polo, lo he combinado con una sencilla camiseta blanca con un must, las hombreras, que ayudan a afinar visualmente las caderas para así conseguir una silueta de reloj de arena, cinturón vintage y zapatillas blancas para restarle seriedad.  Aquí  podéis ver otro ejemplo de cómo utilizar hombreras para afinar las caderas.

Like many of the patterns and designs we usually wear, this design was born by chance. Human error can be wonderful.

Its origin dates back to the late eighteenth century, where by an error in the pattern, circles and pinks appeared in the fabrics, these were called polka dots.

In principle, these fabrics were sold to humble people, especially the gypsies and flamenco dancers, who hid the spots by painting more spots and moles.

In 1873, «Godey, s» magazines uses the term «polka-dots» to name this design. It was named after the Polka, dance of the time, although there is no relationship between design and dance. Immediately it became fashionable, being used in sleeves, headdresses and full dresses.

Also remember that in the decade of the 50’s was the «star» print among rockabillies.

And here they are, as current as they were, they come back every year and they are not exclusive to spring or summer, but we also see them more and more in winter.

In Spain its use is associated with the gypsy or flamenco costume.

So today I show you my kinda flamenca look.

The look that I bring you today remembers to another trend that we talked about very recently here; the return of Pretty Woman style. The print of the skirt is the same as Julia Roberts looks in a polo match, I combined it with a simple white T-shirt with a must, shoulder pads, which help to optically tighten the hips to get an hourglass silhouette, vintage belt and white sneakers to detract it from seriousness. I used this trick in this other look.
