Así es como comienza la increible «Space Oddity» de David Bowie. Creo que de Bowie ya hemos hablado en alguna otra ocasión como en este otro post sobre la genial «Velvet Goldmine» pero es que no podemos negar que Bowie, su estilo, su música, su maquillaje y todo lo que rodeaba a la gran estrella del rock y del Glam era pura inspiración. Y seguramente por eso esta no es ni la primera, ni será la última vez que aparezca por aquí.

Space Oddity -en españolː «Odisea espacial»- es una de las obras cumbre del  cantante británico. Editada como sencillo en 1969, narra el lanzamiento al espacio del Mayor Tom.  Bowie narra la sensación desoladora de flotar en el espacio dentro de una mínima cajita de lata desconectado de toda comunicación. Y qué pequeño se siente uno cuando piensa en la inmensidad del espacio, ains. 

La canción fue utilizada por la BBC en su cobertura del alunizaje del Apolo 11.  Y Curiosamente esta fue la canción, elegida por Elon Musk, durante el lanzamiento del Falcon Heavy el pasado 6 de febrero.

Y ya estaréis pensando que adónde quiero llegar con tanta elucubración; y es que básicamente fue esta primera estrofa de Space Oddity la que vino a mi mente cuando Gorka me regalo este  precioso vestido con estampado de cascos para Reyes. Es de la colección Otoño/Invierno de Bimba y Lola y lo que más me gusta de él no es solo su estampado y el fuerte color rojo sino que es un vestido perfecto para la nueva temporada.

Lo he combinado contrench en color camel, por que aunque la fórmula camel yrojo no es ninguna novedad, soy de las que creen que si algo  funciona se puede usar una y mil veces, obviando las tendencias.

Espero que os guste, y como aquella que cantaba «Ponte el cinturón» no olvidéis poneros el casco.

This is how the incredible «Space Oddity» by David Bowie begins. I think we’ve talked about Bowie on some other occasion like in this post about the great «Velvet Goldmine» but we can not deny that Bowie, his style, his music, his makeup and everything that surrounded the great star of rock and Glam was pure inspiration. So surely that’s why this is not the first time we talk about him, neither the last one.

Space Oddity is one of the masterpieces of the British singer. Edited as a single in 1969, it narrates the release to space of Major Tom. Bowie narrates the desolating sensation of floating in space inside a tiny tin box disconnected from all communication with the earth. And how small could we feel when in  the immensity of space.

The song was used by the BBC in its coverage of the Apollo 11 landing. And interestingly, this was the song, chosen by Elon Musk, during the launch of Falcon Heavy on February 6.

You must be thinking that where I want to arrive with such lucubration but is just  that this first stanza of Space Oddity  came to my mind when Gorka gave me this beautiful dress with helmets print. What I like most about this dress is not only its print and its strong red color but it is a perfect dress for the new season. I have combined it with a camel color trench coat, for which the formula cameland red is not new but  I  believe that if something works you can wear it  a thousand times, regardless of  trends.
