A Mademoiselle Chanel (que pijo ha sonado eso pero tenía que decirlo, ¡me encanta!) le debemos muchas de las tendencias que se repiten año tras año, entre ellas el estilo marinero o el tweed, tejido que conoció en la época de sus amoríos con el entonces Duque de  Westminster durante un viaje a los Highlands.

Coco siempre defendió que la mujer debía llevar ropa cómoda, que permitiera el movimiento natural  del cuerpo y no la encorsetara, y en el tweed encontró un tejido cálido y flexible que podía adaptarse al vestuario femenino. Su aportación no acabó ahí, consiguió que lo aligeraran, lo mezcló con otros tejidos y con el tiempo lo convirtió en apto incluso para la noche.

Así que cuando hace unos días fuimos de excursión a Donosti (San Sebastián), ciudad que os recomiendo, decidí mezclar algunas de las aportaciones de Coco Chanel al mundo de la moda.

Para ello escogí un crop top de rayas en blanco y negro pero con «un toque de color», que diría Llongueras. Shorts de Maje, una de mis firmas favoritas, aunque sus precios no me gusten tanto;) eso sí sus tejidos son de una calidad excelente.

Decidí rematar el look con un abrigo de tweed hecho a medida hace, nada más y nada menos,  que 13 años en un viaje por Vietnam y Camboya.

El abrigo ahora mismo se ha convertido en oversize, antes me quedaba como un guante, pero lo importante es que no ha perdido su forma. 

Vamos, que hay días en los que podemos decir: «Yo es que hoy voy de Chanel»

Consejo viajero: Si alguno va a realizar este viaje y quiere hacerse, o copiarse, una prenda en concreto que se lleve una foto, en Hoi An hay muchas tiendas donde hacen ropa a medida, rapidísimo y por un módico precio (el mío no llegó a 40 euros y me lo entregaron de un día para otro, ¡flipa!)

We owed to Mademoiselle Chanel some of the trends that we wear year after year, among them navy style or tweed, fabric that she discovered during a trip to the Highlands when her love affairs with the Duke of Westminster. (Really??? Yes)

Coco defended that women  had to wear confortable clothes, that allowed natural movement, and in tweed she found a warm and flexible fabric that could be adapted to the female clothing. Her contribution did not end there, she managed to light it, mixed  it with others fabrics and eventually made it wearable even for nights.

So, few days ago we went to Donosti (San Sebastián) for a day trip and I decided mix some of the contributions of Coco Chanel to the fashion’s world.

I chose a black and white stripes crop top with a touch of color and shorts from Maje. Maje is one of my favorite firms but its prices are little high anyway, and to be honest, its fabrics are excellent quality.

To combine I wore my made-to-measure tweed coat. It was made 13 years ago on a trip around Vietnam and Cambodia. The coat is now oversized but it still has its shape.

Definitively sometimes we could dream a little and say: Today I am wearing Chanel!

Travel advice: If any of you guys is going to Vietnam and want to have any made-to measure garment this is your trip, just bring a picture of what you want. Mine is made in Hoi An (Vietnam) fast and cheap (almost 40 euros and it was delivered within 24 hours)
